Home Visitshome_visit3

Requests for home visit should be made before 10:00 am. Home Visits are for people who are too ill to attend the surgery.  Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.  The doctor will decide whether it is an appropriate request.  Lack of transport is not a valid reason for a home visit.

Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to do a home visit.  It is beneficial to the patient if he/she attends the surgery rather than be seen at home as the surgery is equipped to meet most needs.

Home visits will only be made to place recorded in the patient’s medical records as being the last home address or if agreed by the doctor to another address in the practice catchment area for regular patients.
In certain circumstances the doctor may judge that the medical condition of the patient requesting a visit is such that a referral to hospital is necessary without a visit.
